Jordan announced his retirement in 1993, mostly due to the recent murder of his father. Jordan played for the Birmingham Barons, a Double A-minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, for one season, with mixed results. Without Jordan, the Bulls still went 55-27, and his #23 was retired that season.
